THERAPY TECHNIQUES

Person-Centered Therapy

Person-centered therapy is rooted in the belief that people have an innate capacity to grow, heal, and move toward wholeness when provided the right tools and support. You are the expert of your own life. Person-centered therapy creates a safe environment for individuals to explore, grow, and feel supported.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps individuals understand how thoughts influence feelings and behaviors, and identify unhelpful patterns to work toward healthier ways of thinking and responding. For individuals who feel stuck in negative thinking patterns or unhelpful habits, CBT offers practical tools to help shift those patterns and regain a sense of agency.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy helps individuals understand how past experiences and relationships might be influencing your present life. This approach is especially helpful for those who find themselves repeating the same emotional cycles or struggling to make sense of long-standing feelings.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of gently bringing attention to the present moment without judgment. Incorporating mindfulness into therapy can help clients feel grounded, reduce anxiety, and nurture a more compassionate relationship with one's thoughts and emotions.

Meditation

Meditation offers a space to pause, breathe, and reconnect. Simple meditative practices can support calm, focus, and emotional clarity. These techniques aren’t about “clearing your mind” but rather creating space to observe what’s happening within.

Somatic Techniques

Trauma often lives in the body, not just the mind. Clinically-supported somatic tools can help reconnect individuals build nervous system regulation and move toward a feeling of internal safety. This may include breathwork, grounding exercises, and other somatic techniques.

"Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness."
